Hello Everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed your holidays! I am currently looking for a Sr.
Level Java developer for a project with our client located in Salt Lake
City.
They are seeking an experienced java programmer to assist with the
re-write and development of online reports.
This position is expected to be filled by February 1, 2010 and is
expected to last through the end of June 2010, perhaps longer depending
on availability of funding.
Job Description:
The qualified applicant will work on a rewrite of the existing reporting
system.
These reports were initially created using Brio/Hyperian reporting
tools. The logic for these reports will be changed so that they will be
rendered in PDF format eliminating the need for Brio/Hyperian. Initial
work will be researching and documenting the existing processes within
the system. This includes written translation of the existing technology
from Brio to standard SQL against the database. Upon completion of
research and documentation, the applicant will then design and build
these reporting processes to meet the required specifications within the
WebSphere environment. It is expected that the programmer would follow
previously defined / implemented standards in development methodology,
usable technologies, and coding standards.
Experience / Skills:
Application development for internet based applications utilizing the
technologies described below.
Extensive iText development experience is required.
Development experience utilizing the IBM WebSphere application
development tool - RAD.
Development experience with JAVA (2 year minimum job experience), SQL,
JSP & HTML.
Development experience utilizing Model View Controller methodology.
Web Service development experience a plus but not required.
Understanding of java development best practices and code optimization.
Ability to work as team member.
Duties:
Develop / modify java applications at direction of court staff that meet
design specifications and technical development standards.
Work with court staff (technical team and business specialists) to
insure quality development and product.
Coordinate programming changes with staff.
Make recommendations at both the business process level and programming
level to insure optimum product.
Some after hours work may be necessary but not typical.
